The roots blower is composed of five parts: casing, wallboard, impeller, oil tank, and muffler.
Casing: mainly used for supporting (wallboard, impeller, muffler) and fixing.
Wall panel: It is mainly used to connect the casing and the impeller, support the rotation of the impeller and play the role of end sealing.
Impeller: It is the rotating part of the Roots blower, which is divided into two blades and three blades. However, due to the advantages of the three blades, such as less air pulsation, less noise, and more stable operation than the two blades, it has gradually replaced the two blades' Roots blower.
Oil tank: mainly used to store lubricating oil for lubricating gears and bearings.
Muffler: used to reduce the noise caused by airflow pulsation during the inlet and outlet of the Roots blower.

The roots blower is a kind of positive displacement fan. There are two three-blade impellers rotating relatively in the space sealed by the casing and the wall panel. Because each impeller is an involute or epicycloid envelope, the three blades of each impeller are identical, and the two impellers are also identical, which greatly reduces the processing difficulty. The impeller is processed with numerical control equipment, which ensures that the two impellers can maintain a certain minimum clearance no matter where the two impellers rotate under the condition of constant center distance, so as to ensure that the gas leakage is within the allowable range.
The two impellers rotate in opposite directions. Because the gap between the impeller and the impeller, between the impeller and the casing, and between the impeller and the wall panel is very small, the vacuum state is formed at the air inlet. The air enters the air inlet chamber under the action of atmospheric pressure. Then, two of the blades of each impeller form a sealing chamber with the wall panel and the casing. Operating conditions
1. The steam inlet temperature of the conveying medium shall not be greater than 40 ºC.
2. The content of particles in the medium shall not exceed 100mg/m3, and the maximum size of particles shall not exceed half of the minimum working clearance.
3. During operation, the bearing temperature shall not be higher than 95 ºC, and the lubricating oil temperature shall not be higher than 65 ºC.
4. The service pressure shall not be higher than the pressure rise range specified on the nameplate.
5. The clearance between the impeller and the casing, the impeller and the side plate, and the impeller and the impeller of the Roots blower have been adjusted before leaving the factory. The clearance shall be guaranteed during reassembly.
6. When the Roots blower is running, the oil level of the main oil tank and the auxiliary oil tank must be between the two red lines of the oil level gauge.
7. Check whether the connection parts of the inlet and outlet have forgotten to fasten and whether the supporting parts of the piping are complete. For blowers and vacuum pumps requiring cooling water, check whether the installation of cooling water meets the requirements.
